Testimonials

Our shul had the honor and privilege of hosting Elissa Felder this past Shabbos.  She spoke about an emotionally challenging topic with much authenticity and clarity.  Her words gave strength to those who have dealt with loss and perspective to those who haven't.  Her words about the taharah procedure were inspiring and meaningful.  Our shul benefited greatly from her visit.

Rabbi Dovid Rosenbaum, Young Israel Shomrai Emunah of Greater Washington

Elissa Felder’s speech on finding healing through loss was deeply moving and profoundly insightful. With authenticity and compassion, she wove together personal experience and timeless Torah wisdom, offering not just comfort but a meaningful path forward.

Having Elissa Felder speak at the Soul Center about her book From One Life to the Next was a deeply moving and memorable experience. Her openness and vulnerability in sharing her personal journey created an atmosphere of true connection. Elissa spoke with such honesty and grace about how she found comfort and healing through Jewish traditions and rituals—her words resonated deeply with everyone in the room.

What made the evening especially powerful was Elissa's gift for creating a safe, sacred space where others felt invited to reflect and share. She gently reminded us that grief and comfort can coexist, and that we are not alone in navigating loss. Her presence offered strength, perspective, and hope to all of us on our own paths.

We could have sat and listened to Elissa for hours. Her presence was a true gift to our community.

Rebbetzin Devorah Buxbaum

Co-Founder of the LEV Experience

We recently invited Elissa Felder to our community to speak about her new book. She talks from the heart and her words inspire those who hear her. Elissa interweaves her personal experience of loss and renewal with much Jewish thought and Torah insight. Our community left the experience more inspired to think about the value of life, the profundity of death and the holiness of both. I highly recommend her as a scholar in residence for any Jewish community.

Rabbi Hyim Shafner, Kesher Israel: The Georgetown Synagogue

Elissa Felder gave a deeply moving and insightful talk about the Chevra Kadisha, sharing both the sacred responsibility and profound meaning behind this vital mitzvah. Having Elissa's passion and dedication on full display during her talk was such a gift - she inspired our kehilla, in the early stages of forming a Chevra Kadisha, to embrace the topic of bringing holiness to death with great sensitivity and warmth.

Elissa’s presentation was a beacon, shedding light on the murky and sometimes uncomfortable topic of end of life. The audience gained both practical knowledge and much inspiration. Rarely have I attended a lecture where the Rebbetzin is as inspired as those new to observant life! Our experience was informative, relevant, and curiously uplifting.

I cannot thank Elissa enough for a fantastic evening.

I want to thank Elissa for presenting two fabulous sessions to the Ben Zakkai Institute, both of which were so full, meaningful and joyful. I loved spending that time with her, and I think those who attended agree with me, based on comments I've received. Yasher Koach on a job well done.

Thank you for an insightful lecture, sharing your own personal story and helping us gain a deeper understanding of a mitzvah we don’t know enough about. Your exuberant manner, multi-faceted knowledge, and the far reaching messages gleaned from your description of the work of the Chevra Kadisha left a wonderful impression, strengthening during turbulent times.

Thank you for helping us unite the women of our greater community in the spirit of reaching higher, focusing on our common denominators and gaining tools with which to navigate an often complex world.

Today's speaker was amazing! Her authenticity and vulnerability were inspiring. The way she shared her challenges with courage and resilience, refusing to let them define her, is incredible. Her message was powerful and uplifting - a reminder that our struggles don't dictate our worth or potential. Thank you so much for having her talk to us today!

Mrs. Elissa Felder shared a fascinating and unknown topic with the students in a very real and non threatening way. The process through which the neshama travels through birth, death and olam haba is rarely spoken about.  This deeper understanding of the journey of the neshama gave my students a clearer and bigger picture of their role here in this world. I highly recommend inviting her to address crowds of all ages and stages.
