"Keep Moving Forward"

"Keep Moving Forward"

The children of Israel arrive at the Reed Sea,

hotly pursued by the aggressive Egyptians who want to re-enslave and oppress them.

The chariots and horses are fast approaching.

Fear and despair spread through the people.

One brave man, Nachshon ben Aminadav,

exhibiting complete faith in God walks into the sea.

One bold, courageous Israelite who

believed in miracles and had hope for salvation and freedom moved forward.

When the water reached his nostrils the sea split,

revealing dry land for the entire nation.

The waters divided just like they did when the world was created.

An escape route opened up and all the people then moved forward.

When the world looked bleak, when the road ahead looked blocked and

fear took over, that's when we needed someone to say,

'No!'

'Don't give up,'

'Keep moving,'

'Keep hoping,'

'Keep looking for miracles,'

'Keep faith that the future will be better and brighter.'

God has demonstrated the ability to save the Jewish people and

destroy the Egyptians in the same moment.

God has taught us, that when all looks lost, we must never give up.

Sometimes it just takes one small step forward with hope, courage and faith for things to change.

At the Reed Sea, the whole situation changed in the blink of an eye.

It switched instantly from despair to joy.

In our lives we may feel we have reached the end of the road and

we may feel blocked.

We may feel paralyzed and that we have hit rock bottom.

From somewhere we must find the strength to keep moving.

When someone inspires us, loves us,

 believes in us, encourages us,

holds our hand and says you are not alone,

we may then feel able to take one step forward and

then another until we reach a better place.

May we be blessed to have the courage needed to keep moving forward so that we too can achieve both individual and national freedom and salvation.

Shabbat shalom,

Much love

Elissa
